I really appreciated this, "Each time we write or speak, our goal is not perfection, but incremental growth. We want to be a little bit better than the last time we communicated." That's the only way, whether communication or any skill we need and want to own. This was an excellent reminder!
I just recently learned about the use of "yet" in communication. I've applied it to more to myself but I love how you use it with your children. I wish I would have known about this practice while my children were young. Of course, as adults, we still need it, whether for ourselves or others we want to encourage.
I feel so much better about my own evolution as a speaker knowing that MLK got a C, after he got a C+. I'm going to cite this story now. Also, I like the new direction of you analyzing different speeches.
What a liberating idea to embrace my limitation instead of hiding it behind the closet!
Thank you so much, as always. I thoroughly enjoyed the newsletter.
I appreciate your insights in this post!
